The Process

Two-way communication doesn’t mean spending hours on the phone. If you can find time to communicate your needs, the delivery of client-approved text is a straightforward process.

What I need from you

  • Your existing website link (if you have one)
  • If you don’t have a website, a quick overview of your industry/business would be helpful
  • The number of web pages you require
  • Page headings
  • The type of content each page will display
  • Estimated amount of content
  • The tone of your content e.g. very formal, light professional, sales emphasis
  • The delivery date

The quote

Once you’ve provided the above, you’ll receive a quote for review and (fingers crossed) acceptance. Please note that a 50% deposit is required prior to the commencement of work. Once the deposit is paid, writing work can begin.

The writing work

The first piece of content is very important. To develop flowing website wording, a block of text (i.e. for a single web page) is drafted and emailed to you to establish the style and tone for the remaining content. If you’d like the writing to be ‘jazzed up’, now is the time to mention it. Once this text is finalised, written work can continue. Depending on the size of the job, work is usually broken up into pages (or stages), with a Microsoft Word document created for each one. You can apply your edits using ‘Track Changes’. Alternatively, you can apply your edits and highlight them in yellow.

The final draft

Each piece of content will be revised until the client is happy. Once approved, a copy of the document (including word count) is available for download in Word, PDF or plain text format. If required, the content can also be uploaded to your website (refer to our Services page for more information).

Final payment

The balance owing depends on the final word count of the client-approved text. Refer to the Rates page for more information. Once all content is approved and delivered, you will receive an invoice for the balance owing. Rates quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and are not subject to GST. Payment terms are seven (7) days.
